This unique, fully furnished self-catering glamping accommodation in the heart of the rustic Langeberg region between Swellendam and Heidelberg awaits you. Visitors can experience the beauty of nature, without compromising the comforts they love.
Wake up to panoramic views of an enchanted forest and a choir of chirping birds in arguably one of the most beautiful places in the Overberg. The reserve offers an array of things to do from mountain biking, hiking and birding to lounging and stargazing at your own private fire pit. Drink in the unadulterated beauty of outdoor nature in the comfort of any one of the five newly developed glamping sites. Where luxury meets the outdoors, the units have a fully fitted kitchenette, private bathroom and sleeps 4 people with two bedrooms. Returning from a steep hike or an exhilarating mountain bike trip? Refresh in the bonus outdoor shower with 3 of the 5 glamping tents boasting open top showers.
CapeNature CEO Dr Razeena Omar says, “Many years ago CapeNature, with a few industry partners, led the glamping revolution with the award-winning eco-lodges at Gamkaberg Nature Reserve near Oudtshoorn. Today we welcome this new addition to our portfolio of glamping and camping options at CapeNature. The glamping tents are a unique way to enjoy beautiful starry nights and majestic mountain views. Each of the glamping units follow the entity’s commitment to touching the earth lightly, with minimal foundations and lightweight construction techniques involving locally produced and sustainable materials.”
The glamping sites are named after the Southern Afrotemperate Forest (the Southern Cape Forests) present at Grootvadersbosch. The tall, shady, multi-layered indigenous South African forest tree species are Yellowwood, Red alder, Stinkwood, Sequoia (“Si-koi-ja”) and Boekenhout.
Glamping makes for a private, comfortable experience whilst in the open spaces of nature, still leaving you with a rustic feel. Regular tents make way for a luxurious stay with attractive décor and your own fire pit to boot. Glamping is the new “lit” camping for those who are adventurous, but enjoy their privacy and comfort.
